Mango and Ginger Smoothie

I personally love ginger. I like the zingy, tangy feeling in my throat, the smell, the colour, I like it in stir-fries, dumplings, soups, tea, you name it. I realise not everybody’s a fan though. I once made ginger tea for my friend, she had two sips and nearly threw up, no kidding.

This recipe is super simple, the whole thing shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes (unless you’re doing it in the morning, half asleep). It has 5 ingredients, it’s creamy, refreshing, hot, sweet and sour at the same time, brilliant balance ;P

If you’re not a fan of ginger, beware, you can definitely feel it in this one!

1 cup = 200 ml

Prep time: less than 5 min

Makes: twoΒ smoothies

What you need,

What to do,

  1. Cut the mango and the banana into small chunks.
  2. Squeeze the juice of half a lime.
  3. Grate the ginger on a microplane grater (if you have one).
  4. Put all of the ingredients in the blender and blend till it’s smooth and creamy.
